University of New Orleans poll claims black support for Dr. Duke even greater than white support! What’s going on here?

By Dr. Patrick Slattery — A new poll released by the University of New Orleans reports that black support for Dr. Duke’s bid for Senate is actually higher than his white support. This in spite of the fact that Dr. Duke has said he will be a voice for white interests in the U.S. Senate. What’s going on here?

Poll

First of all, it must be said that white interests and black interests are NOT diametrically opposed, and that the policies pursued by our elite have been detrimental to both races. There is actually much greater overlap in interests than most people realize. There is the obvious common interest in controlling the boarder. Massive immigration is turning whites into a minority, while it is completely marginalizing blacks, whose numbers have already been exceeded by Hispanics.

Globalization and free trade are sucking jobs out of the country, which is hurting both blacks and whites. Our crazy wars are leaving our soldiers, both black and white, dead and mutilated.

And our sick media is promoting drugs and degeneracy and gangsterism to the great detriment of both races.

I guarantee there is no better candidate on these issues than Dr. Duke, and the poll indicates that many blacks realize this.

But wait, there’s more. Dr. Duke is talking about ending affirmative action. Isn’t that a pro-black policy, and wouldn’t ending it hurt blacks?

The answer is no! It is true that affirmative action gives a small number of blacks entry into positions in universities or jobs that they otherwise would not be qualified for. Those individuals often go on to be well-rewarded token window dressing, able to buy their way into otherwise white suburbs. But this also winds up stripping black communities of their most capable leaders.

The fact is that after 50 years of affirmative action and various welfare programs touted to improve conditions for blacks, the situation in the black community has deteriorated enormously. Crime is up, drug use is up, and the family has fallen apart. Illegitimacy rates for black babies is now above 75%! Sure, we have a black president, but who in their right mind would think that trading their dad for Obama is a good deal?

Getting back to the poll, I am sure that it is underestimating white support for Dr. Duke. When he ran for Senate and Governor in the 1990’s, he famously “flew below the radar” in polls, which measured his support at far less than the actual votes he received on election day. This became known as “the Duke effect” in the polling industry. People being surveyed simply did not want to go on record as supporting the media7s bogeyman, but in the privacy of the voting booth were more than willing to cast their vote for him.

In addition to the anomaly of the UNO survey showing more black support for Duke than white support, it also shows support for him falling steadily among older age groups, so that senior citizens register only one-third the support that people in their twenties do. What I think is actually the case is that the Duke effect becomes more pronounced in older people. After all, Duke won the majority of white voters in his elections in the 1990’s.

Are we really supposed to believe that almost none of the people who actually voted for Dr. Duke in two state-wide races would still vote for him, and that all his support now is coming from young people and blacks? That’s preposterous!

Still, the poll reports that, even in a crowded field of 24 candidates, 13% say they will vote for Dr. Duke (14% among blacks), which would probably be enough to finish in the top two and go on to the run off in December.  Yet, in every single election in Duke’s career he earned more than twice the votes the polls predicted, so on that basis he is probably in first place with between 28 and 30 percent. But of course, as I have clearly demonstrated, the true support for Dr. Duke is much higher than what is reflected in the poll.
