About Dr. Duke

Israel still moaning about Lancet doctors’ support for David Duke!

Commentary by Dr. Patrick Slattery — The Israelis are still stinging from the support shown by doctors associated with the prestigious medical journal The Lancet for Dr. David Duke’s positions and videos. The Lancet, which was founded almost 200 years ago, is perhaps the world’s most distinguished medical journal. Last summer a group of well-known physicians published an open letter criticizing Israel’s massacre of Gazans. It later turned out that some of these doctors had been so impressed by one of Dr. Duke’s videos, CNN Goldman Sachs & the Zio Matrix of Power, that they circulated it widely via social media.

The Lancet editor Richard Horton originally supported the doctors, but with Jewish supremacists having more than their share of influence in the medical profession, Horton wound up grovelling his way to Israel to beg for forgiveness. (See Dr. Duke’s open letter to Horton here.)

However, the Israelis are still in damage control mode, and they have summoned Horton back to Israel to confront him with “evidence” that The Lancet’s reporting on Palestinian health issues is too political. Of course, the abysmal health of the Palestinians has purely political causes, due to Israel’s wanton destruction of the Palestinian public health infrastructure, including hospitals, water treatment plants, pharmaceutical imports, and housing stock. -ps

NGO Monitor claims anti-Israel bias at UK medical journal ‘Lancet’

(The Jerusalem Post) Berlin — The British-based medical journal The Lancet’s treatment of Palestinian public health issues has undermined Israel-Palestinian relations, according to a detailed study published by Jerusalem- based NGO Monitor.

The Lancet has set back relations between Israelis and Palestinians “by taking a highly politicized course in the Israeli- Palestinian conflict,” according to the new report, which was obtained exclusively by The Jerusalem Post.

The Lancet has ostracized, and to a large extent, demonized Israel and the Israeli medical community,” the report continues.

Dr. Richard Horton, the Lancet’s editor-in-chief, is due to visit Israel later this month, in what will be his second trip to the country.

The publication was accused of basis last August after it published an “Open letter to the people of Gaza” attacking Israel while ignoring Hamas rocket attacks on the Jewish state. The letter accused Israel of committing a “massacre” in Gaza during Operation Protective Edge.

Two of the 1,600-word letters’ authors, Dr. Paola Manduca and Dr. Swee Ang, have connections with David Duke, a former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard in Louisiana and advocate of Nazism. Both Manduca and Ang expressed sympathy for Duke’s rabidly anti-Jewish positions.
