An Israeli driver has run over two Palestinians in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, killing one and injuring another.

Palestinian security sources said on Tuesday that an Israeli bus hit two Palestinians near the al-Jalama checkpoint in Jenin, killing 22-year-old Noor Hassan Naim Salim and wounding 20-year-old Alaa Kayid Salim.

The Israeli police says the bus driver was detained.

Over the past weeks, the occupied West Bank has been the scene of clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces over the al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israel comes under fire over shoot-to-kill policy

Human rights groups have censured the Tel Aviv regime for encouraging a shoot-to-kill policy, following a spate of incidents in which Israeli troopers fatally shot Palestinians suspected of attacking Israelis.

The rights groups stated that the practice of killing suspects at the scene without trying to arrest and prosecute them is a cause of concern.

Moreover, the suspects’ families face the likelihood of having their homes razed in a punitive measure, the rights groups added.

Israeli rights group, B’Tselem, said it was “extremely disturbed” by Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch’s comments on shooting to death suspects at the scene, describing the remarks as “provocative” and encouraging “execution without trial.”

Israeli lawmakers peeved by U.S. criticism of ‘Jewish state’ bill

WASHINGTON (JTA) — Israeli officials hit back at U.S. criticism of their country’s proposed “Jewish state” law.

“I say to the Americans, we will manage Israel’s affairs,” Israeli Economy Minister Naftali Bennett of the right-wing Jewish Home party told Army Radio on Tuesday. “In the end it’s our problem, it’s a domestic problem and I don’t think anyone has the right to get involved.”

Knesset member Zeev Elkin of the Likud party was quoted saying in Yisrael Hayom, “We can safeguard our democratic principles without any joint assistance from across the ocean.”

The Obama administration and the Anti-Defamation League both expressed reservations about the proposed law, which would define Israel constitutionally as a Jewish state.

ZOA Brings Adelson, Cruz to NYC to Woo the Jews

By J.J. Goldberg

Two of the hottest stars in the Republican firmament, Ted Cruz of Texas and Sheldon Adelson of Nevada, tore through the skies this week in what’s traditionally considered America’s most solid Democratic stronghold, the New York Jewish community.

The resulting sound-and-light show probably doesn’t tell us a whole lot about the fates of the two visitors, but it provides a revealing glimpse at the changing landscape of New York Jewish politics.

The biggest headline to emerge from the whirlwind tour was that Adelson doesn’t plan on backing Cruz for president in 2016. After a Monday morning chat, Adelson concluded that Cruz is “too right-wing” and would be a longshot for the GOP nomination, a source close to Adelson told the New York Observer’s Ken Kurson.

Teacher jailed for sex abuse at Aussie Jewish school deported to U.S.

SYDNEY, Australia (JTA) – An Orthodox Jewish teacher was deported to the United States after serving a jail sentence for sexually abusing four boys at a Jewish school in Melbourne more than two decades ago.

David Kramer, 54, was sentenced last year to a non-parole period of 18 months after pleading guilty to abusing the minors at the Chabad-run Yeshivah College between 1989 and 1992.

Kramer – whom the pupils knew as “Rabbi Kramer” – was released in late September and deported to the U.S., the Sydney Morning Herald reported Tuesday, citing confirmation from the Immigration Department in Australia.

Manny Waks, the only Jewish victim to have spoken publicly in Australia, said it was imperative that Kramer’s whereabouts are made known.

Palestinian officials say the amount of the cement Israel has allowed into the Gaza Strip is not enough for rebuilding the strip following Israel’s 50-day war against the enclave.

Raed Fatuh, the Palestinian Authority official in charge of the entry of goods into Gaza through the Kerem Shalom border crossing, said twenty-eight trucks, each loaded with 40 tons of cement, crossed into the coastal sliver on Tuesday.

“This is the biggest delivery of cement since the war ended,” he added. “But it is not enough, it is only a tiny amount for the reconstruction.”

The Israeli war ended on August 26 with a truce that took effect after indirect negotiations in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. The onslaught killed nearly 2,140 Palestinians and injured thousands of others.

According to initial figures, nearly 89,000 Palestinian homes have been damaged in the Israeli military campaign against the Gaza Strip. A total of 15,000 homes have been either leveled to the ground or badly damaged that are no more habitable.

Orthodox N.J. Embraces Rabbi Pruzansky — Extreme Anti-Arab Views and All

Teaneck Cleric: ‘My Words Find a Very Receptive Audience’

Published November 25, 2014.
(JTA) — If Rabbi Steven Pruzansky of Teaneck, N.J., had his way, Arab rioters and stone throwers would be shot with live ammunition. Arabs would be barred from the Temple Mount for six months. Any village from which two or more terrorists originated would be razed and its residents deported. Arab terrorists would be executed, their bodies cremated and buried with dead pigs, their families deported and their homes destroyed or given to Jews.

“There is a war for the land of Israel that is being waged, and the Arabs who dwell in the land of Israel are the enemy in that war and must be vanquished,” Pruzansky wrote in a Nov. 21 post on his personal blog.

“Measures need to be implemented that encourage Arab emigration — the payment of stipends, compensation for property, etc. They must be made to feel that that they have no future in the land of Israel — no national future and no individual future,” he wrote.
