Dual loyalty Eric Alterman calls all of organized Jewry “Israel Firsters”
By Dr. Patrick Slattery — Ok, it’s not exactly the “latest news,” but I just stumbled on it, so it’s news to me. Eric Alterman of The Nation magazine back in 2010 wrote a blog entry with the following lead:
this article in the Forward, you’ll see that every single leader of every major Jewish organization has chosen to side with the government of Israel over the representative of their own government when it comes to the government of Israel’s right to attack American Jewish organizations.”
If you read
It sounds as if he is accusing the leaders of Jewish organizations of having a dual loyalty, or even being Israeli-firsters. This is the same Eric Alterman who back in 2003 made the following confession:
My own dual loyalties–there, I admitted it–were drilled into me by my parents, my grandparents, my Hebrew school teachers and my rabbis, not to mention Israeli teen-tour leaders and AIPAC college representatives. It was just about the only thing they all agreed upon. Yet this milk- (and honey-) fed loyalty to Israel as the primary component of American Jewish identity–always taught in the context of the Holocaust–inspires a certain confusion in its adherents, namely: Whose interests come first, America’s or Israel’s? … [W]e ought to be honest enough to at least imagine a hypothetical clash between American and Israeli interests. Here, I feel pretty lonely admitting that, every once in a while, I’m going to go with what’s best for Israel.”
By the way, in this same article Alterman made the following points regarding the Iraq War:
“This war has put Jews in the showcase as never before. Its primary intellectual architects–Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle and Douglas Feith–are all Jewish neoconservatives. So, too, are many of its prominent media cheerleaders, including William Kristol, Charles Krauthammer and Marty Peretz. Joe Lieberman, the nation’s most conspicuous Jewish politician, has been an avid booster, going so far as to rebuke his former partner Al Gore and much of his own party. Then there’s the “Jews control the media” problem….
Much to the delight of genuine anti-Semites of the left and right, the idea of a new war to remove Saddam was partially conceived at the behest of Likud politician Benjamin Netanyahu in a document written expressly for him by Perle, Feith and others in 1996.”
Of course, these are the exact points made by Dr. Duke about the war in recent interviews with the likes of Alex Jones and Cenk Uygur, with the predictable comebacks about those individuals “just happening” to be Jewish and some people in the media are Irish, so there!
The fact is that Jews are in control of our foreign policy, our media, and much much more. Jones, Uygur, and company can be counted on to mouth tired old excuses to counter the ADL-defined “canards,” but there are plenty of Jews from Eric Alterman to Ben and Joel Stein who find it beneth them to pretend that the obvious fact of Jewish power does not exist. Maybe it’s just their way of humiliating these well-paid goyish toadies, putting them in their places. The question is whether new openings provided by the Trump candidacy will allow for people to open their eyes to the reality of Jewish domination of America. The new year is bound to be an interesting one.
