by Jeff Davis. First there were the skeptics who pointed out there was a decade of Global Cooling in the 1970s which disproves any strong connection between pollution and the earth warming up. Then there was the data about the average global temperature peaking in 1998 and dropping since then. And then a couple months ago hacked e-mails were published in which Global Warming scientists at East Anglia University suggested that they should “hide the decline” in average global temperature since 1998. Now the top Global Warming scientist is reportedly suicidal, unable to produce his original data, causing some to wonder if he ever had any.
The British Daily Mail reports: “The academic at the centre of the Climategate affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble keeping track of the information. Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.”
And we were about to have a tyranny imposed on us that wanted to fine, tax and regulate businesses more then ever by closet Marxist politicians who had hopped on the Global Warming bandwagon. We’ve already lost countless factories to Mexico and China as big corporations flee the US. Do we really want to drive out the last remnant of US manufacturing? Does anyone believe these corporations pollute less when they move from the US to China to escape regulation?
The Daily Mail notes “Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is not as good as it should be. The data is crucial to the famous hockey stick graph used by climate change advocates to support the theory. Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon. And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no statistically significant warming.”
So the main “scientist” who pushed the Global Warming theory on us, which was all set to strangle countless businesses and manufacturing plants, was a disorganized slob. Critics of Jones have pointed out that data taken from a variety of trees would have wiped out the “hockey stick” temperature rise that he claimed to exist. Considering that a tree’s growth can be affected by shade from a larger tree, that might get blown over, it’s important to get a large collection of data, not a narrow set like Jones had. Then again a good competent scientist would have considered that.
More Daily Mail: “The admissions will be seized on by sceptics as fresh evidence that there are serious flaws at the heart of the science of climate change and the orthodoxy that recent rises in temperature are largely man-made. Professor Jones has been in the spotlight since he stepped down as director of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit after the leaking of emails that sceptics claim show scientists were manipulating data. The raw data, collected from hundreds of weather stations around the world and analysed by his unit, has been used for years to bolster efforts by the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to press governments to cut carbon dioxide emissions. Following the leak of the emails, Professor Jones has been accused of scientific fraud for allegedly deliberately suppressing information and refusing to share vital data with critics.”
So the first Global Warming scientist has stepped down in disgrace. Getting anyone to fund scientific research without commercial or military applications is almost impossible in Western society especially in the current economic conditions and it could well be that most of these dishonest and deceitful Global Warming scientists did it purely to keep a paycheck coming in. Liberal politicians saw an opportunity for a huge power grab and an excuse to further tax and regulate big corporations –all in the name of fighting “Global Warming”.
In a curious footnote, celebrity billionaire Donald Trump has come out strongly against Global Warming echoing what a large majority of Americans now believe. Trump enjoys being a celebrity and any public statement from him is coolly calculated. Trump is not going to take a poke at a liberal sacred cow, unless it has already been turned into hamburger.
