Science Fact! Saturated Fat Is Good for You — Breads, Grains & Sugars Are Bad!

Commentary From David DukeAs I said on my radio show of Friday, August 11, the scientific evidence today overwhelmingly shows that saturated fats, even saturated animal fats, are not why we have skyrocketing obesity and all the major health ills associated with excess fat on our bodies.

Not fat, but carbs whether it is the form of bread and pasta or in the form of sugary drinks, is the greates source of heart disease, diabetes and increased cancers.

These are caused by the insulin levels in the body that are spiked by grains and sugars! The amazing fact is that two slices of whole wheat bread have a higher glycemic index and will thus raise your blood sugar (glucose) level higher than table sugar! As the Scientific American article shows, people who go on a diet of cutting fats and reducing calories actually lose less weight and have far worse blood tests than those who eat unlimited saturated fats, including animal fats, as long as they cut the carbs!

From the Scientific American!

Eat less saturated fat: that has been the take-home message from the U.S. government for the past 30 years. But while Americans have dutifully reduced the percentage of daily calories from saturated fat since 1970, the obesity rate during that time has more than doubled, diabetes has tripled, and heart disease is still the country’s biggest killer. Now a spate of new research, including a meta-analysis of nearly two dozen studies, suggests a reason why: investigators may have picked the wrong culprit. Processed carbohydrates, which many Americans eat today in place of fat, may increase the risk of obesity, diabetes and heart disease more than fat does—a finding that has serious implications for new dietary guidelines expected this year.   — MORE
