United Nations Security Council has discussed the Israeli regime’s crimes against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip.

Jens Anders Toyberg-Frandzen, the assistant secretary general ad interim for UN political affairs, addressed the Security Council meeting on Monday, saying, “Clashes between Palestinian youths and Israeli security forces” in East al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the occupied West Bank “have been taking place on an almost daily basis, and escalating tensions surrounding access to holy sites have contributed significantly to the spike in violence.”

Enumerating the atrocities committed by the Tel Aviv regime, the UN official said that Israeli police shot and killed a Palestinian youth in the village of Kafr Kanna on November 8.

“On the same day, thousands of people reportedly protested the killing, leading to clashes with police in the village” Toyberg-Frandzen said, adding, “A Palestinian man was reportedly shot to death by Israeli security forces during clashes at a refugee camp” near the West Bank’s southern city of al-Khalil (Hebron) on November 11.

The ISIL Takfiri terrorists have executed nearly 1,500 people in Syria in five months, as they continue committing crimes against humanity on a large scale in the country, says a UK-based group.

Rami Abdel Rahman, the director of the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said on Monday that the agency has documented the execution of 1,429 people since June.

He further noted that the majority of ISIL’s victims in Syria have been civilians.

“Of the total number of people beheaded or shot dead in mass killings by ISIL, 879 have been civilians, some 700 of them members of the Shaitat tribe,” Abdel Rahman said.

Israeli settlers have hanged a Palestinian man in East al-Quds (Jerusalem) in another incident of brutality against Palestinians in the occupied territories, local sources say.

Hassan Yousef Rammouni, 32, a Palestinian bus driver, was driving back home from work on Sunday when he was abducted and then hanged by Israelis in his bus in the Ras al-Amud neighborhood.

Signs of strangulation on Rammouni’s neck as well as signs of violence on his body were apparent, sources said.

The residents staged a protest against the killing in the area with clashes breaking out between Israeli forces and the Palestinian protesters, according to reports.

Israel adding F-35 fighter jets to Lockheed Martin order

WASHINGTON (JTA) — Israel will add another 10 to 15 F-35 stealth fighter jets to its order of 19 from Lockheed Martin.

Yuval Steinitz, Israel’s intelligence minister, told Reuters on Monday that the Cabinet had approved the purchase. The number is below the additional 25 to 31 planes reportedly sought by Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon.

“We are not the Defense Ministry’s rubber stamp,” Steinitz told the news agency.

Israel, facing budget restraints, recently canceled an order of the V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft. Israel first ordered 19 F-35s for $2.75 billion in 2010.

A political analyst says the Israeli regime will press ahead with its brutal “colonial policies” by killing Palestinians and grabbing their lands.

Sukant Chandan, a political analyst, said in an interview with Press TV from London that the Tel Aviv regime has accelerated the “colonization of the West Bank” and other occupied Palestinian territories in recent years.

The Israeli “white colonial settler” regime has spared no efforts to “colonize native people,” and has boosted attempts to Judaize al-Quds (Jerusalem), the analyst said.

He further stressed that the Israeli attempts to expand the illegal settlements on Palestinian land have already triggered a third spontaneous intifada (uprising).
