Top Secret Wonk, 66, Winds up Dead, Body Dumped

by Jeff Davis

Here’s an interesting murder case that’s come up recently. One of the neocon bureaucrats who worked for George W. Bush ended up dead with his body tossed in a dumpster.

An article from the US Daily reports “Delaware police released new video on Friday showing John Wheeler, a former senior official in the administration of President George W. Bush, on the street in downtown Wilmington the day before his body was found in a nearby landfill. Local police and the FBI are trying to figure out how Wheeler’s body got in a dumpster picked up by the trash truck in Newark, Del. as early as 4:20 a.m. on New Year’s Eve. The Delaware Medical Examiner has ruled Wheeler’s death a homicide but has not released the cause of death, pending the results of toxicology tests. The new video shows Wheeler exiting a building and crossing a street in central Wilmington, wearing dark pants and a blue hooded sweatshirt, the Newark Police Department said in a statement. The video traces Wheeler’s movements until 8:42 p.m. on December 30, about 13 hours before his body was spotted by a sanitation worker falling out of a trash truck at a Wilmington landfill. Police had previously published video showing him inside the building at about 8:30 p.m. on December 30.”

Wheeler worked for an organization called the Mitre Corporation which did work for Defense and Intelligence, Aviation Systems and Homeland Security. One news article notes “Wheeler served as a special assistant to the secretary of the Air Force under President George W. Bush, and in the administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.”

Mr. Wheeler would have been in a key position to know exactly what was happening on Sep. 11th, 2001. He would have -at the least- known who stopped the interception of commercial airliners which had been hijacked that day. He also would know which -if any- commercial jets were shot down that day. There are an awful lot of secrets Mr. Wheeler was carrying around with him. Perhaps someone in a position of power decided to wrap up some loose ends and terminate Mr. Wheeler so he wouldn’t let any key information about 911 slip out to the general public. That’s a heck of a brutal retirement program. Perhaps this should be a warning to any other high-level government wonk with key info on 911 being an inside job. Maybe it’s better to leak the info than to be buried with it.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt once said “Nothing in politics ever happens by coincidence.”

Another report claims that Wheeler was seen shortly after being mugged of his briefcase. Wheeler was apparently slugged in the head and walking around in a daze. He was reportedly found with head injuries. But would a man like this have been walking around in a neighborhood where he would be likely to be mugged? And if it was not a common street crime, then what was it?

It will be interesting to see if this case quietly drops out of sight after a few days or if anything more turns up.
